Please note that there are no advertisements on Oppo. Therefore there is no business-oriented case for continuing to subsidize the site.

Not that there’s any particularly good reason to imagine that the new management buying out GMG was a business decision in the first place. I could be wrong, but it appears to me that the idea all along was to shut all the GMG sites down. Somebody thought that was worth $50-million. It’s not the first time.

You may be right, but do we want to risk sticking around ? Also, never been all that active, but I’m in the Cincinnati area too, and it was always fun to see another person around home posting stuff here. So thanks. And thanks for all the really cool illustrations. maybe if I get out more I’ll run into you someday.

They are displaying the notice on Oppo, but not on the FP.

There’s no reason to not let users post to their personal blog but still make posts on oppo.

I’d be very surprised if it doesn’t apply to oppo as well.
